Willie Nelson – 35 Million
Popular for his hit songs like “Crazy” and “On the Road Again,” Willie Nelson was a prominent country singer-songwriter towards the end of the 60s. Nelson greatly contributed to the “outlaw country” subgenere which challenged the conservatism of Nashville, Tenesse. During his long, award-winning career, Willie has written a handful of timeless country classics that are frequently covered by aritsts worldwide. Age is irrelevant to Nelson, as the 80-something year legend continues to record, tour, and commit a lot of his time to various charities.
Pearl Jam – 32 Million
Lead by none other than musician and activist Eddie Vedder, the band Pearl Jam came to be in 1990. The bands first album (Ten) was an instant hit on the strength of their tracks with two follow-up records going multiplatinum. In addition to Vedder the band’s line-up is comprised of Mike McCready (lead guitar), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), and Jeff Ament (bass). Together the group has succesfully outlasted and outsold many of its contemporaries from the alternative rock breakthrough of the early 1990s.
