Our boy Eminem is obviously a genius rapper, record producer, and actor. Throughout his career, he’s had 10 number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and 5 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. With a record of US sales of 45.1 million albums and 42 million tracks as of June 2014, Eminem is actually the second best-selling male artist of the Nielsen SoundScan era. He’s the sixth best-selling artist in America and is also the best-selling hip-hop artist. Globally, he has sold over 172 million albums, which makes him one of the world’s best-selling artists. Rolling Stone even called him the King of Hip Hop. You won’t find us arguing that.

Another one of the longest-living band in history makes the list but surprising, The Rolling Stones have not sold as many albums as one may believe. Their estimated sales are thought to be about 200 million, but their certified units sold show no more than half this figure. But that doesn’t demean their powerful legacy, just remember that six of the top 20 highest-grossing concert tours were theirs.
