Contributions To Mathematics
There is significant evidence that Persian mathematicians were directly involved with the establishment of Algebra and are also known for discovering Trigonometry. The word ‘algebra’ comes from the title of Persian mathematician al-Khwarizmi’s book called “Ilm al-jabr wa’l-mukabala.”
Guitar Heroes
The invention of the guitar can also be credited to the ancient Persians. Their invention, called the Tar (originally called cahartar, meaning “four string”) is what the modern-day guitar was based on. The Tar is a lute-like instrument that was invented way back in the 18th century.
