It was the end of the letter that took everyone by surprise. John Anglin, if it was him, wrote that he was, “Living in Southern California now.” There were skeptics who claimed that a criminal who had escaped would not do such a thing – live so close to the site of his escape. But there were others who were convinced that it was a call for help as he was old and fragile then.
