After the Roaring Twenties came to a close, there was yet again a dramatic shift in ideal female body types. After the stock market crashed, the style for women shifted to more form fitting dresses, which heralded the classically feminine body type and saw the end of the boxier styled dresses of the 20’s.

Dolores Del Rio is a symbol of the old Hollywood glamour that epitomized the soft siren look during this decade. She was described as “roundly turned” and “warmly curved” by Photoplay magazine. The Mexican starlet was even said to have had the best figure in Hollywood at the time.
