Raquel Welch worked hard to get a scholarship to attend San Diego State College where she wanted to study drama. But with the scholarship she still needed to find an income, so she took on a number of different jobs. She worked as a weather forecaster at KFMB, worked as a cocktail waitress, and spent some time in front of the camera as a model.

It was in 1964 that Raquel Welch made her first appearance on the big screen. It wasn’t by any means a big role, but it was the start that got her foot in the door. The movie was called, “A house is Not a Home”, and she had the role of a call girl.
