For years now, Star Trek has racked up quite the following, all over the globe and rightly so. With a film adaptation in the works again, we decided to look back at the original cast of the show to see what they’ve been up to since the good ol’ days. Now, people just call that show “The Original Show.” Well, if you are a true Trekkie you already knew that the original series was actually created by Gene Roddenberry. Wow, those were the days! That original show aired from 1966 until 1969. Of course, then it got new life in syndication before coming to the big screen. For all the Trekkies out there, did you know that Roddenberry created the show after being inspired by western works like Wagon Trail, along with Gulliver’s Travels and the Horatio Hornblower novels? Also the franchise has been noted for its progressive take on civil rights. You probably knew the first series was one of the first multiracial casts to be on television.
Although some of the great stars have since passed like Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley (who played Bones or Leonard McCoy) and even James Dooham (who played Scotty or Montgomery Scott), we still have a lot of cast members to catch up with! Maybe you’ve been following some of your favorite stars like Marina Sirtis, Barbara Bouchet, Beth Toussaint, to newer stars like Noa Tishby. Honestly, over the years there have been so many Star Trek films, it can be hard to keep up. That’s why we are making things a whole lot easier for you and have gathered all of your favorite stars from all of the years. Sure we all have our favorite films or shows out of the franchise, but it’s so hard to pick your favorite stars. They’ve all been so amazing throughout the years.
Yes, we all know where stars like William Shatner or George Takei have been, but you’ve probably been wondering where everyone else went. Maybe you even watched them in a show or film without realizing they were from Star Trek! The stars from the show have been in tons of recent things like Orange is the New Black and to Stranger Things. Trust us, they’ve kept quite busy since their time as a cast member.
Let the ‘Live Long and Prosper’ nostalgia commence!
