Harmony Santana
Harmony Santana became the first trans woman to be nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2011 film Gun Hill Road. She is also an activist and is a spokesperson for Homeless Youth and Bullying. She herself spent time living in Green Chimneys, a group home for LGBTQ+ youth.
Calpernia Addams
Calpernia Addams is an actress, musician, and trans right activist. She served in the US Navy, and during her last year in the military, she came out as trans. She took the name Calpernia after the character of Calpunia, wife of Caesar in the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar.
